I'm normally the type of person that will try anything at least once!!!  All this time I've been saying, I don't like cream of wheat blah, blah, blah.... Well, drumroll please, my hubby just made me some and it's delish, I'm excited to eat it tomorrow with a mashed up banana for breakfast.  S here is my question for all you vets, is this a really good source of protien?  While I'm on the protien note, has anyone ever used the Amplified wheybolic extreme 60 protien for a protien source?  My husband bought it when he had his rny done, but I just fear this used more towards muscle body builders or something!

Please help, thanks ;)

I think the only protein is from the banana isnt it?? The cream of wheat itself has more carbs if I remember correctly. Its a good choice if you add milk and a banana, thats what I did.

a banana isn't a good source of protein either.   a small banana has 1 gram of protein.

there is hardly any protein in cream of wheat. If you eat it, you may want to consider adding protein powder to it. That is what I do with oatmeal when I eat it.

I believe that the original poster is less than 2 weeks out and just on mushies.  When I was on mushies, cream of wheat was ok.  You are correct about adding some protein powder to it.  she won't be able to eat but a little bit of it.
Good Luck to you!

i was allowed cream of wheat too, and oatmeal, etc, on mushies (and now for that matter!).  She asked if it was a good source of protein though, and allowed or not, i just believe the answer is no it's not.  She can still choose to eat it though, just that it's not a good source of protein.

You're right, I didn't read the post right.  Please forgive., I agree, not a great source of protein.  Sorry, didn't mean to offend anyone.

The carbs without protein kill me - can't do any of the Cream of Wheat, oatmeal, cereal things ...

I love them, they just don't love me and they're are not worth how ill they make me!

I don't think there is much nutritional value in cream of wheat.
