10 days out today....and a surprise at my doctor visit
I am 10 days out today. Went to the doctor too have my staples removed (yeah) the doctor asked how I was doing on my pureed foods....I told her fine...no issues. She told me if that was the case I could move to real food!!!! What so soon? I must admit I am nervous to even try it....She said up to 4 oz at a time.
Recommendations?
Are there foods I should avoid?

Wow!!! That is quick. I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks. But all doctors are different. When I moved on to soft foods I took it slow. You never know what may not agree with you. One of the first things I tried was macaroni and cheese. I had such a craving for it. Congrats on moving forward on your journey. Good luck

I came home from the hospital on soft foods. That was my surgeon's normal protocol and very few people had any trouble with it. I was eating moist chicken and fish at 2 weeks out.
Did she not give you a list of things not to try yet?!? Most surgeons have you wait on raw veggies, many fruits, and hard to digest red meat, pork, and fibrous veggies like broccoli and fibrous fruit like pineapple.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
I tried shrimp and broiled talipia around then and it was fine. I am almost a month out and can not eat even half what they told you. I ususlly try 3-4 small shrimp or 1 oz of fish, you can always have more but that one bite to much hurts!!! and motz. cheese sticks are great and easy to carry with you.

I started off with greek yogurt, cottage cheese, refried beans, and other things that were easy to chew.
Protein first. It will take awhile for you to have the capacity to eat much, so you need to put the protein in first. Also, I second what Lora said about raw veggies and hard to digest fibrous foods. My first veggies were a couple of green beans cooked soft and plain.
