Re-living my teenage days...

... but not actually in a "good" way.

Has anyone else experienced acne after surgery.  I'd been thinking it was just a reaction to the detoxifying that would happen but it's really not been clearing up at all.  And I use to have such nice clear skin (of course, I have no problems trading a skinny butt for pimples on my forehead)

Is it just a hormonal thing as I'm in the first few months post op that will even out 6 months or a year out?

Any advice?

Thanks

Yes it's the hormones dropping into your system.  I am 59 had my surgery in May have great skin still at my age and I broke out!  I sat there looking into the mirror and going WTH????  Don't worry this will pass.  Jane

LOL - WTH is right.  I'm 40 and the sudden (and steady) break out was weirding me out.

Thanks

Yep, it's the hormones. Rest assured, it will pass once the hormone levels drop back down.

Um not only do those hormones being dumped into your blood cause you to have some acne issues, you might also find yourself acting like a teenager in other ways. After my first WLS my behavior almost led to the end of my marriage.

Just saying, be careful and mindful that you might not be yourself.
