Keep SAFE!!!!! My first lesson is ... you don't buy a dozen freshly baked bagels when you DO NOT eat bagels BUT have two hungry men and an additional two hungry students you took in as they live off campus in evacuated areas ... it is before noon and the bagels are GONE! so is the lox and the cream cheese oh and the MESS in the breakfast nook ... SIGH .... I have all my RNY specialties and care pack down pat but will not impose my diet preferences on other members of the household especially my son who is eating like he is on a 'SEE' food diet and NEVER gains an ounce ,,, what's up with that? no fair LOL
So I went out and got more bagels .... I hard boiled a dozen eggs.... got big slabs of ice for the large ice chests and another 2 AM FM battery operated radios ... I think I am all set and in for the day.... our governor just issued this ... and I live very close to the water but on a slight hill and we were not evacuated (yet)...
This is the status in my area so far:

Gov. Dannel Malloy has ordered road closures for all state highways.
The closures will be implemented in two phases.
At 11 a.m., trucks will be prohibited from operating on limited access highways. At 1 p.m., state highways will be closed to all non-emergency related vehicles.
“Residents need to take this storm very seriously. Beginning in the next several hours, wind gusts will begin to exceed 50 m.p.h., making traveling along our roads – especially wooded areas like the Merritt Parkway – very dangerous. We’re doing this in two phases, so that trucks will first be prohibited and then all non-emergency vehicles. If you’re in a non-evacuation area, stay home,” Malloy said.
Maybe I need to do something with those bananas I bought. In addition to shelf-stable stuff, we bought fruit (cuz it doesn't spoil) but now I have a lovely bunch of bananas staring at me from atop the fridge.....

When I have ripening bananas, I usually make cake with them. Bananas act like flour in cake/quick bread recipes. I throw some protein powder in those suckers and away we go! You need recipes?

I can relate. I miss blog posts all the time. I was just teasing!
Right now I am baking (yes, I know...but my oven is electric and who knows when it'll come back after it's gone???).
Stay safe!
