So disappointed
I met with my nut today and I am also in the 400-600 cal range. She told me to try and get up to 800. Not sure how i can, but i need to eat more or add another shake. Does you plan tell you a calorie range? Mine does say 800-900 for first 6 months. Maybe you should try to increase your calories. You may be going into starvation mode.

Looking at your profile you are a relative lightweight with a BMI around 40. I was told the average weight loss is 3-5lb/week (much higher than most weight loss programs of 1-2lb/wk). 21lb in 5 wks is 4.2 lb/week. Pretty good in my books. At just under 5ft tall and weighing 204lb at the start I had a BMI of 40. I lost on average 2-4 lb per week and reached a BMI of 25 in 5 months! That was 55lb in 5 months. I was thrilled.
We are so anxious to see the pounds melt that we can't see the forest for the trees. I promise if you stick faithfully to the program you will succeed and looking back it will seem to have happened in the blink of an eye.
Pat yourself on the back, become your best cheerleader and enjoy the ride. Before you know it your clothes will be falling off and you will be having one NSV after another.
Good luck,
Andrea

I'm not sure what your surgical weight was, but 21 pounds sounds good to me! I lost 17 pounds in my first 5 weeks (started at 207) and the doctor was pleased. What were you expecting to lose? Was your BMI pretty high? Just wondering...
You're doing great. You ARE losing! That's almost exactly where I was at 5 weeks.

That is EXACTLY where I am too. Had my surgery Sept 17 and I've lost 21lbs since. I know I'm not eating enough, but I don't know how to get in anymore calories a day. I find it hard to snack...I'm just not hungry in between meals. Am I supposed to force myself? I never thought I'd say this, but I'm bored with food. I start eating and I get bored or tired of chewing and stop. Sometimes I eat til I'm full, but not all the time. I do my protein first, but I have very little room for anything else. If I did, it would be easier to up my calories. It's got to get easier, right? LOL I'm just keeping on!!!
