Good Morning all,

I've found recently that I am slightly bored with dinners and I'd like some ideas/suggestions. I'm about 2.5 months out. I can have basically anything, but am still staying away from basically all carbs like bread, pasta, etc. (except fruits and veggies). A typical dinner for me has been a chicken breast with buffalo sauce or a chicken breast with marinara sauce. Steak is still questionable going down/digesting, but I'm willing to try it again. If anyone has any high-protein favorites I'd love to hear them! I should add that I'm not cooking for a family, I live by myself, but I do have both a small and large crockpot. Also, since I go to the gym after work then come home and cook I prefer easier to prepare meals.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I can't wait to read all the replies that you receive..... I am 8 weeks out and I am bored to death too!  I am supposed to be on soft foods, pretty much anything except raw fruits and veggies....  Hope you ( we) get alot of ideas.. LOL

A great choice would be chili. You could make a batch and freeze portions for other nights. Another one that I had at least twice a week is baked or broiled salmon. I cooked it in my toaster oven. Nights that I didn't feel like cooking anything my "go-to" was shrimp ****tail.

If I think of other things I will post again!

A couple of studies have shown that eating the same basic diet over a period of time helps weight loss. That is, not having a lot of variety makes it easier to lose, and easier to prepare food.

I'm not saying eat oatmeal 24/7 for months. But find a few foods and stick close to them for a few weeks. Then make your changes, and stick close to the new foods for a while.

I'm not really sure why this works, but for me, I would eat in this way and I did very well. I just had to make sure it was things I really liked.

How about pork? Fish? Tofu with veggies? Veggie burgers? A recent addition for my rotation has been refried beans, cheese and salsa with a few tortilla chips. Personally, I have to change things up. I have a hard time sticking with the same foods day in and day out. If you need more ideas, check out Eggface's page or Bariatric Foodie's page for inspiration. Good luck!

One of my "Usual Favorite Foods" as I call it is a one egg omelet made with egg, 1 to 2 oz deli turkey and a slice of cheese on top. Sometimes I omit the Turkey and add chili on top to make a  Chili and cheese Omelet.

My go too fast meal is "flakes of" anything... Tuna, chicken, turkey, ham mixed with plain Greek yogurt, a little low fat mayo, finely chopped celery , dill, and pepper and shredded cheese

Do you cook it a certain way to make flakes? Or just chop it up into small pieces?

this sounds gross, but they come in a can! 1 can is about half a cup, and has 24 g of protein

I have never seen or heard of those!  I wonder if they are sold in the USA too?
