It's Wednesday! What are you up to and what are you eating?
What an exciting Tuesday! Regardless of how you voted or how you feel about the results, I think that the real sign of progress will be if the elected officials we've chosen can work together without being so concerned about the party lines. On a personal level, I was pleased to see some really intelligent, strong women win their elections and am happy that the right to marry has been extended to more individuals.
It's pretty quiet here today in DC. Election night parties are a big deal here, so I'm thinking there were some hung-over, heavy heads this morning. There are very few people in the office.
Food today:
- Breakfast: Coffee, breakfast of champions
- Lunch: Roasted turkey breast and a salad of green peppers, red onion, tomatoes, broccoli and maybe a sprinkle of feta.
- Dinner: I really don't know. I have been cleaning out one closet or room in our house each day and it is taking up a lot of the time I'd normally use to cook dinner. Probably macaroni and cheese for my husband and leftover kielbasa with brown rice and veggies for me.
- Snack: Kashi chocolate-caramel protein and fiber bar
- Snack 2: Activia strawberry yogurt
I am really making an effort to stick to this plan today. I've been doing a lot of grazing, and while I'm not putting on weight I know that it's a bad habit. One day at a time, right?
Dioji hopes you all have a wonderful Wednesday:

Today I am joining some of my new coworkers for a lunchtime Jillian Michaels workout. It's a good way to meet more people in my organization and get my exercise in for the day. Being in HR, it has been a little hard to make new work friends by virtue of my position and previous reputation of the HR team. It's been a little lonely at work since making the transition to my new company. Here's my post-election meal plan:
B - Tall Skinny Peppermint Mocha (Starbucks)
L - Nik's Pumpkin Chili
PM Snack - Protein Shake
D - BBQ meatballs and some veg
This evening's funtivities include laundry and the DVR.
What a great way to meet new people and find some positive, active friends at work. Our head of HR is retiring and we are having her farewell tea time this afternoon. It's a bummer because she's a really great lady who has advocated for us to have so many good providers and benefits (i.e. health insurance, 403(b), dental insurance, long-term care). That said, everyone I work with is pretty great so I don't doubt the institution's ability to find someone smart to fill the position.
Have a nice day! I'll be cleaning out closets as my "funtivity." Hah.

Thank you! He is our favorite little buddy. (And he looks so cute with his bow from the groomer.)

Today is the 3rd of better eating so yay :) now just to get out of the hibernation mode and hit the gym!
Today's eats as I know them
B: Premier Protein ready to go drink
L: Taco meat, mixed veggies and a tbsp of low cal ranch
AS: Cottage cheese with some fibre bran
S: tilapia perhaps..not sure yet with that
ES: Maybe not anything
Meeting tonight so hopefully will squeeze in a bit of time at the gym before then
Have a wonderful hump day everyone!
I have lots of options to do today. Just not sure which direction I will go. So far I've just been knitting on a baby blanket for my Niece's baby and enjoying the sunshine out on the porch.
B - Low Fat Cottage Cheese. (not one of my fav things but I know it's protein and I can get it down since I can't manage to like greek yogurt.)
L - Ham and Swiss Roll up.
D - I'm going to try the Beer Crockpot Chicken and some fresh vegs.
A few almonds here and there.
I need to work on drinking more water. So I'll work on that today.
Have a great day everyone!!!
Only day 2 of avoiding the pretzel jar for me... BUT - I lost 4lbs yesterday. Clearly jus****er retention (my plumbing is it's ordinary clogged) but it put me back into my normal range. Pretzels really aren't my friend. I wish salt didn't taste so good.
So far today:
B - power crunch bar
L - cheese sandwich (whole spelt bread / mustard / cheddar)
D - tba... meeting tonight
S - fiber 1 90 calorie brownie
Have a great night!
Laura
Right with you on the pretzels. They are such a deceiving "healthy" snack, so I stopped buying them. Now if I want them I have to be motivated enough to make them myself. I have a great recipe for whole wheat pretzel rods, but they take so much time to make (yeast risen dough and all) that it usually kills the craving.

OK confession time cause with being benched again! the eating stuff just isn't where it should be. Don't need any lectures on why or how no preaching to me on FB just going to be honest.
Some days are btter food wise than others but over all it is still healthy and good choices. volume, planning and frequency seem to be where I am failing.
Earlier this week I brought a nice salad for lunch and it sat in the fridge because I was "To Busy" to eat. today I totally didn't plan for.
Breakfast Protein Shake:
Snack: Apple
Later snack: Banana
Lunch: Protein bar & Apple
Snack: Protein Bar
Later snack: Apple
Dinner: who the hell knows.
