Friday - What's on your plate?
Ugh.
I have felt horrible the last couple of weeks with dizziness and irritability. My already poor memory has gone down the drain. Then Wednesday night I started coughing, yesterdayI started running a 102 fever. Stress, sick, dizzy do not make a happy / fun to be around Lori. I actually had to apologize to some folks at work for the way I conducted myself. The dizziness etc was so bad I left work for the first time in nearly 8yrs and went to see Dr. Friedman. They gave me a B1 shot (OUCH), some nasal B12 and instructions to increase some vitamins and add some. He is also sending me BACK to the cardiologist.
Today I was supposed to have a counseling appointment - canceled because of the fever. I am supposed to work out with the trainer and the adult me knows I need to cancel there as well, but the fat kid is terrified of missing. I have to go back to the hospital this afternoon to pick up prescriptions, then I am hoping and praying I can get some rest - except I have 22 little day old chicks in my bathroom chirping and my friend is bringing her 140lb great dane to stay the weekend.
Sigh
B - warm mint cookie protein made w/ cc chocolate milk and water
L - orange cream protein / cc white milk / sf vanilla torani
S - quest? or maybe something warm
D - probably eggs and turkey bacon. Or a protein shake
It amazes me sometimes how alike you and I are. My memory has been challenging since surgery (I believe mostly owing to the fact that I often forget my b12 supplement and only recently started taking any B complex vitamins). I also have a fair share of weird mental stuff. Like I can't handle multiple sources of sound at the same time. It drives me nuts and I can't think straight. And sometimes I have trouble holding onto thoughts.
NEWBIES: let this be a lesson to you. TAKE YOUR B12!!!
Anyway, today is sort of a melancholy day for me. I think it's my approaching birthday (please, no congrats type stuff...I can't handle it). Every milestone is just hard. I'm trying to hold it together but some days it's more challenging than others.
Anyhoo, now that I've depressed the living hell out of you, here's what I'm doing/eating.
Doing: working then the divas have a dance they want to go to tonight (nevermind that it was SUPPOSED to be their dad's weekend but now not so much...) so while they are there I am coming back to my office that has good software so that I can do one last "do or die" edit of the shake book. Come hell nor high water I am submitting the thing to the printer on Monday! After the dance I have to go home and process a few last Survival Kit orders and then I'll probably catch up on my DVR stuff.
Eating (that I know of):
1. Click Frapp
2. I want to go for su****oday so probably a spicy tuna roll
3. A salad from somewhere. Maybe a McD's Southwest salad?
4. Cottage cheese/PB2/Cinnamon
5. Coffee, coffee, coffee
Have a good day Lori!
I hope you feel better soon.
RNY Gastric Bypass 1-8-08 350/327/200 (HW/SW/CW). I spend most of my time playing with my food over at Bariatric Foodie - check me out!
I love my B12. Love. And now no pharmacy in our town (no exaggeration) has the injectable. So my bariatric nurse gave me a sample of the nasal spray and a scrip for it.
Can't wait for your shake book!!
eta - I ended up with a turkey bacon and tomato "sandwich" (1pc ww bread) for lunch. I did go to the gym and work with the trainer - it was ugly but I did it! Sweat was running like I had a hose turned on my head - either that helped my feelings or the tylenol I finally took :) . I am going to try to nap until the hound from hades shows up this evening

Well, today's the 1 year anniversary of my surgery date. It snuck up on me even though I knew it was coming. I've got 104 pounds of food to take to a local food bank (one pound of food for each pound of weight lost). I'm grateful, reflective and completely humbled today. I have my life back and I must never forget that or the feeling that I have today, right now. I'll do the drop off on my lunch hour and finish up work and round out the day with a run. Hope everybody's day turns out well!
Eats:
Early AM - Protein Coffee
Mid AM -1 egg, 2 egg whites, onion, bell pepper and salsa
Lunch - Last of the Thanksgiving ham and a chunk of swiss cheese
Dinner - Not sure yet, I've got to go grocery shopping - We may do breakfast for dinner, so it would be eggs and turkey sausage for me.
So glad it's friday! I have a whole weekend with NOTHING planned! Woohoo!!
I love reading these posts, now I want a bathroom full of little chicks and a spicy tuna roll :)~
Anyway food for today:
B: Cheerios w Almond milk one cup each and a cheese stick
S: Apple and yogurt
L: I made a Pumpkin Penne pasta with chicken last night (Martha Stuart recipe but tweaked without all the cream and butter) it was super tasty so I brought the leftovers
S: Cottage cheese with 1T apple butter and a pack of splenda
D: Going out tonight and I am getting the salad bar (because it's a pretty awesome one with all kinds of yummy things on it)
S: Weigh****chers 100 calorie drum sticks (They are ok but really little and a bit expensive)
Have a great day everyone!

Did they mail them? A while back, my family and I were planning to move to a farmhouse and we were going to have chickens, ducks and some goats and so I researched like a madwoman for a couple of weeks. I thought it was so weird/cool that they send live baby chicks through the USPS and they'd (usually) arrive alive and unharmed.
Those plans didn't work out and I'm still a little sad about not getting to raise some chicks!
Yep! This is the 2nd time I ordered through the mail - both times they arrived fine and healthy. Right before / during hatching chicks absorb the yolk of the egg and it nourishes them for 2 days. Just when they arrive you have to be sure to show them straight to water and have a warm place for them.
I let one of my hens hatch a clutch one time, and I put some eggs through the incubator once. I ended up with tons of roosters! So the whole idea of ordering them was to get just pullets / hens... but then they put 7 roos in for warmth. Sigh
I think winter has it's grip on people. Just sick and the darkness here gets to me. I hope both of you ladies feel better soon.
Yesterday I picked up my chili from my regular soup/chili place and it was god-awful. So I got it in my head to make chili so that I don't have to buy. Well I never do anything small and ended up making 3 types of chili last night, Ground Turkey with Bean chili, Ground beef with Bean Chili, and round steak Texas style chili. I now have 40 some portions of chili, most of it outside freezing because my freezer is full. That is the only great thing about Saskatchewan Winters..free freezer for 4 months of the year.
Today's eats
Protein Shake
L: Chili!
AS: No idea
S: Probably chili and cauliflower rice
ES: Want popcorn but probably something protein forward as I'm trying to drop my carb numbers down again..
Heading to spin and sculpt class after work, it usually kicks my butt pretty hard.
Happy Friday everyone
