surgery while sick?

So the yucky germs are parading around my house like crazy. Tummy bug has been off and on for the last few weeks. Now I am feeling a cough/cold coming on.

Is surgery still possible if I am sick? I am terrified of becoming sick and having to cancel surgery.

quick! go to the store and grab cold/cough day and night alka seltzer citrus! it will knock that right out of ya!! you be feeling better in days, if you dont like that get emergen C! and take it like a clock!

I sure hope so...mines on tuesday and i have a little head cold :( 

Call your surgeon.
They will want to know BEFORE you get to the hospital for surgery.
If you do not have a fever most likely surgery will go as planned.
Worst case scenario it gets postponed a week or so... at least you will be safe going into surgery!
I had a little post nasal drip and cough prior to my surgery.I had preop clearance a few days before and lungs were clear and no fever so it was a go.

Hopefully all the illnesses will have passed by the time your surgery arrives. Better now, while you still have time to recover. Best of luck!!!!
