post opt 3 days need help

Had my surgery on 2/5 and I am in alot of discomfort mainly on my left side where he stapled. I am crying all the time and to get up out of a chair I am seeing stars.  Has anyone else felt like this.  I know everyone is different but I am seriously so upset.  I am not able to do much walking because of the storm coming our way.  I really need some help

Make sure you are staying AHEAD with your pain meds...don't wait until they wear off to take your next dose.  The pain in your left side is where the doc had all the instruments during the surgery.  Unfortunately, other Han pain meds, time is the only thing that makes it better...well, walking...the more you walk, the faster you start feeling better.  Sorry it's hurting you so bad.  Hope you start feeling better real soon.

Call your surgeon if you're in too much pain and ask for different pain meds.  Walk around in your house right now.  Just get up every half hour or so while you're away and walk around for five minutes.

Two good pieces of advice here that I want to second. Ask for pain meds and dosage that work and stay on top of the pain before it gets on top of you and get up now and walk.  These ate the hardest days. It will get better soon!  Allison

Would a heating pad help? (((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) I agree with everyone stay on your meds.

Did they send you home with a wrap that goes around your tummy and fastens sort of like an ace bandage? If so, use it! If not, hold a pillow over your tummy at all time, especially when walking anywhere. Ask for stronger pain meds

oh sweetie! I am * days post op and really get it. rest and walk and use the pain meds. Today I am 8 days out and the pain is much better than it was. Walk and rest.
