I just went to your profile and copied the picture (right click - copy) and then opened the message and pasted it.  I'm not sure if it's different versions of Internet Explorer/Firefox or (???).  I never have a problem posting pictures. 

I was experiencing the same issue as you.  What I found that worked for me was to go to my preferences and change the text editor to HTML #1 or #2 as the default (instead of plain text).  That way you can actually copy and paste the images into the message text box.
