Hey everyone! I went to weigh myself for my week 3 post op and the scale did not move at all from last week! I have lost 25 pounds so far. I am doing everything my surgeon and nut tells me to do! What's going on? I'm really upset.

Welcome to the rite of WLS passage known as the stall.  Sometimes our bodies have a hard time adjusting to all of the changes and we stall out for a little bit.  The number on the scale may not change for a little bit, but if you stay on program (intake and exercise), you'll be back to loosing in no time.  I've noticed when I stall out, my body shape may continue to change, so I loose inches and not pounds.  Try not to weigh yourself every day because that just adds to the frustration.  Wishing you continued success!

This is totally normal...if you read through the forum you will see at least a post on this topic every other day. Keep following your rules and you will be just fine. You will not lose weight everyday or even every week/month sometimes..once again..this is normal. If you are upset by not seeing the scale move put it away for a month or even only weigh in at your docs appts.

You have done AMAZING so far..congrats on your 25lb loss! I weigh daily but I mentally prepare myself for not seeing any changes and sometimes(like this morning!) seeing a small increase(1/2 of a lb today). I know that my 'gain' is from constipation today and is certainly not worth stressing out about.

It's normal- it is very frustrating but if you keep doing what you are doing- it will start moving down again soon. Just hang in there dear Melanie.

Welcome to the 3 week stall which was extremely frustrating for me too until I read more posts and saw how common it was. I too lost 25 lbs before the stall hit but hung in there and now I'm down 111 lbs It WILL come off. Don't give up and try not to get down about it. Hang in there

Don't panic!   I had one starting at week 2-4.5 --you are not alone.

Try to boost your water intake as well as your protein, make sure your tracking.

Don't weigh yourself every day, it will only upset you.

Congrats on the 25!

I'm a month out, and I also stalled between weeks 2-4.  I'd seen enough other people stress out on here about it, so I didn't worry at all.  I also lost around 25 lbs in the first two weeks.  I'm 5 weeks post op tomorrow, and the scale has started moving again, so don't worry - yours will start up again soon!!

Yeah - it seems common about week 3-5 your body realizes it's only taken in a certain amount of calories and is trying to adjust accordingly. Think about it - you went from 1500-2000+ calories a day to like 500-800 calories a day.  You're body is going WTH are you doing to me. :) It will jump start again....I'm 6 months out and have lost 66 lbs (98 lbs total) since my surgery - in the last 5 weeks I've only lost 4 lbs. Talk about annoying! hahaha :D
