Higher fasting blood sugar this am. Not sure why...maybe?
A few weeks ago, I was taken off all of my medicines for diabetes and have continued to take fasting blood sugars and random checks if needed. So far, I've been just at low 100's or below. This morning, I was 134! The only thing that I did differently, that I can think of, is that I took my sublingual Vitamin B12 PRIOR to checking my fasting sugar. I usually don't take anything before checking my sugar or blood pressure...I wake, do those things, then start my day. I was reading the ingredients on the vitamin and noticed the first "other ingredients" is mannitol. So, I'm thinking/hoping that this ingredient is the reason my sugar was higher than usual. I would hate to have to go back on pills after coming off of three of them! We'll see what tomorrow's fasting sugar brings.
I was concerned because it's been hovering around the same value for a couple of weeks and then went up to what it was right after surgery...but, at that time, I had been taken off of two meds so I figured it was from that. We'll see! I'll keep monitoring as I've been doing. I felt low this afternoon, checked it and I was... Guess it'll just be something that I have to keep track of more so than I did prior to surgery.
Thank you for your input! :)
