financing

Has anyone paid for their own surgery for RNY and if so, is financing easy and affordable?

I am paying for mine, along with many people, down in Mexico.  I have researched it for years and feel comfortable and safe.  I am going in on 1/7..can't wait!  The total cost of mine (with a high BMI) is $7500 and I'm going through a company called Ready 4 A Change.  I looked at self pay with a local physician and it was around $15,000.

I was self pay but I paid cash and didn't finance although I know there are places that will finance it.  Mine was $25,000 but that included the 3 months of insurance incase of any problems related to the surgery.  My insurance didn't pay for it and won't cover anything related.  The insurance was $3,000 so without that it would have been right around $22,000. 

I am paying cash also. My total cost will be around 22,000 with the pre op testing I paid for. I had to raise the money through loans and other means. Financing can be expensive if you can not pay it off in a years time.
