surgery is this week and OF COURSE I am now sick.
If my surgery has to be rescheduled, I dont know if I will be able to do it. I wont have the help I need with my kids and one of them has autism, so there is a definite need for help! Ugh...I feel like giving up!
Fingers crossed its a 24 hour thing and clears up quickly!!
if not best you can do is ring the surgeon and see what he says.

Nooooo! When is the surgery? gargle with warm sal****er and slam the vitamin C. You may want to call the doctor. Any fever? I haven't been sick in years and right now I have the same damn thing. Amanda, I would leave this up to the surgeon. He may say it's ok and he may say no, I just don't know. Please keep us posted. Take care of yourself. Jane
Do you have a fever? Get some rest and I hope you feel better soon. I had a cold when I had my RNY and when I had plastics (but did not have a fever). I had both surgeries with no problems. Good luck!!

Same thing happened to me last week. I had a head cold. They did a chest x-ray as part of the pre-op. My doctor said as long as my fever stayed under 101 it should be fine. He said in the OR they would give me something that would dry up all the drainage.
I got a little bit better but I was still sick the day of the surgery. Went off without a hitch.
I wish you luck.
