Clothing size question

I was having a discussion with my sweetie today and he said if I can fit into his jeans, he'll buy me all new ones (to keep me from stealing his). A long, long time ago, I used to wear guys jeans because I didn't have a very defined waist. So, since I have no idea how much I weighed back then, at what weight did you get a 34" waist? I'm 5'6".

Thanks,

I'm 5'1, so a size 34 is a size 16 (roughly). I believe I was 180 or so.

You are going to get responses that are ALL OVER the place, because there is no direct correlation between waist size and weight since people are of different heights, body types, and bone structures. Someone who is naturally tall with a narrow torso may be a 34 waist at a much higher weight than someone who is short and wide waisted. Some people have a big difference between waist and hip size while others have a less curvy figure.

So I don't think the replies are really going to help you much unless you get one from someone with a body type very similar to yours.

The only way for you to get a good fit, especially in jeans, is to go and try them on in various styles, cuts, and fits and see what you like.  I find my jeans rest on my hips, no matter what size I get, because my waist is tiny in comparison to my hips.  So get out there and start some shopping!  Thrift and 2nd hand stores like Goodwill and Salvation Army were my mainstay (still are) because I went through so many sizes in a very short period of time.  When I was done with them, I just re-donated them and bought more.

I found that if you find a brand of jeans you like it is easier to stay with that if you can.  I buy my jeans at goodwill or value village and try to look for Lee jeans because I like the way they fit.  They also make a long length for women too.  ( I think they also have petite) I also like some spandex in the jeans also.

I think when I had a 34" waist I was a 16 or 18.

Yes, Lee makes petite jeans in their straight leg style.  All but one pair of my jeans are Lee petites.  (In addition to the 10s that I actually wear, I also have a size 12 pair and a size 14.  They are in a box in the closet, though...)

I don't really want to wear his jeans and I know about fit. All i asked was, if you're about 5'6, when did you get a 34"ish waist. I know results vary.
