URGH! Insomnia!
Well no real sleep for me last night :( Lately, I've been experiencing some lingering anxieties that (hopefully) I can get to the bottom of later today. I have to sleep though! This just sucks!
I've always had issues with anxiety but since losing weight, they seem to have magnified in some ways. I'm emotional and get very angry over nothing sometimes, then I cry. Sometimes it helps after I get it out, sometimes I just feel wiped out. The worse part is that I know what the issues are, I just seem to be 'stuck'.
I've tried all of my relaxation techniques (even DBT ones, a class I took once called Dialectal Behavior Therapy that has to do with awareness and the emotional mind) but my mind won't shut off. Eventually I know I'll just become so physically exaughsted that I will sleep but in the meantime I'm going to lay off caffiene for a bit too, maybe that'll help.
I'm even keeping up with my exercise which helps deal with stress, anxiety and depression.
Any ideas? I'm open to any suggestions!

maybe find a therapist who's trained in hypnotherapy? Are you open to a short-term round of meds? I've had a mixed-bag experience with Ambien: first thought it was a god-send to be without insomnia but eventually took myself off of it because of the bothersome side-effects of amnesiac behavior (doing odd things after taking it without any recollection). Good luck!!!

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this. For me, the only thing that has helped my anxiety is regular talk therapy and Dr. rx'd medication.
What grounding techniques do you use? If you google anxiety grounding techniques, you'll find loads of them. Maybe it's time to try something new? I have to run to an appointment with my surgeon, but I'll check in later and post some of the grounding techniques that work well for me.
