they have 160 cals, 1 gram fat, 1 sugar, 1 carb and 30 gr protein. I am using these now pre=op, in your opinion are they just as good as any other for post op? thanks

They are good post op.....if you can still tolerate them. Our taste changes and sometimes what taste great prer-op does not post-op.
I used to love them even post op. Now - not so much.

my cousin has a membership to costco and has offered to take me with her if I wanted. How much does the protein powder cost and do they have multiple flavors? or is it just the basic vanilla? thanks

I seldom drink protein shakes anymore but have a couple of cases here so when I am in a hurry I can grab one. I like the taste of both kinds. Vanilla and Chocolate. I get the stuff at Costco because it is a little less expensive there than other places that carry it. It is the same stuff they advertise here on OH. Here is a picture. Sorry it is so big but the photo editor on this page sucks.

The ones at costco are 24.00 for 18 of them and they have choc, vanilla and strawberry, they are ready to drink boxes.

Do you know for what reason you wouldnt tolerate them post op? thanks

why you may not be able to tolerate them post op?

1. they may taste bad to you

2. you may find out you become allergic to something in them (I developed allergies to splenda - my friend have severe whey allergies now)

3. just because your body start hating it.

I like them really well! My post op doc recommends them. His wife had the surgery and she loves them, too.

Oh Man -My Costco doesn't carry the Strawberry! LAME!

I have been drinking the premier drinks post-op since the beginning. I prefer the chocolate but the vanilla is good too.  I don't drink them solely - I will switch it up and make a powder drink about every other day.

They aren't to sweet and are so easy right after surgery to just snag one when you are going out and carry them with you.  Or on the weekends they come in handy as well.

Although like someone mentioned your taste does change significantly after surgery - so something you like now - you might not like later.

Also I know at one point I was literally getting nauseated from all the cream chocolate/vanilla flavored protein drinks so for about a month I had to switch it up and do the more juice type protein drinks. Then I was fine again. :)

GOOD LUCK!

I didn't like Premier, but many do.

I like Muscle Milk Light, they come in chocolate and vanilla.  I also buy the Cyto Sport 100% Whey powder.

They recently started selling "New Whey" protein shots, I haven't seen anything good  about the type of protein it's made with.
