30 Days

meltingmama has logged in for 30 days in a row!
That's a miracle.
I never follow through with a food journal (we know this through past history) thirty days is a big freaking deal.
As much as I ***** moan and complain about it, food journaling works.
Journaling shows me immediately where the concern areas are -- and Where I Am Screwing Up. It's glaringly, painfully obvious what needs to change and why I don't lose weight when I think I should. Because I am Too Busy Grazing Bites Of Crackers - Cheese - Cheese - and How About That Cheese? As soon as I make myself accountable to writing it down, at least 75-95% of the time - I do it so much better.
I screw up constantly.
I break rules.
I am a huge mess.
But.
I can do this.
I have gone from 182 lbs to 165 lbs since my last OMGFREAKOUT weigh in. It can work. I'm not dieting. I'm not really trying. I am just checking in everyday and writing down my intake.
Join me if you want?
PS. I screwed up just after writing this. I didn't log in.
yeap. yeap. yeap.
After new year. I will not log my food on New Year Eve. I know I will be good until that day (from now on - don't ask me about Christmas or a week before Christmas)

I totally agree!! I'm 4+ years out and still log about half the time. I think too many of us fool ourselves into thinking we are staying on track, when we really aren't.
Good for you!!

What do you (any of you) find to be the easiest program or do whatever - I try to log (I am almost 5 years out) and get bogged down with figuring it all out as far as amount, etc.
I never got in the habit of logging after the first few months and I KNOW it would help me tremendously!
Merry day after to all of you, by the way!

I have a new philosophy, I'm only going to dread one day at a time. Charlie Brown
myfittnesspal - app and on line.
But even measuring and writing it down in a "diary - makes a difference. "When i have to write down "8 cheese sticks"as my daily "snacks"and know that these are 80cal each... that is more than 50% of my daily calories for the day on maintenance.
Next day - I know I may have 2-3 the most.

I started journaling again after attending my support group meeting last week. Really made me admit that if I wanted to get my snacking under control, I had to track! I have journaled each day since, with the exception of yesterday - but I did start already again this morning. My new slogan is "Track instead of snack"! I also use myfitnesspal.com. I am happy to report that the scale has started to budge again and I feel so much better about how I am doing!
Good luck to everyone!

PS - Melting Mama, I really like cheese too - and its an easy, quick thing to grab! But boy, do those buggers add up!
