Surgery this morning update
Just a quick update. Surgery went well. Was in a lot of pain but it is getting better. Dying of thirst :). Can't keep my eyes open very long.

I am so happy to hear that surgery went well. I was just getting ready to message you! Keep up on your pain meds. I always teach my patients that if you let the pain get too out of control it makes it very hard to get it back under control! Sleep, sleep, sleep. The first night is always the worst. That goes for any surgery. :)

Glad to hear it went well. Mine went great as well. I just got home about 3 hours ago. OMG I know the thirst you speak of. They gave me mouth swabs that I could dip in ice water and rub on the inside of my mouth. Also later in the day one of the nurses gave me mouth moisturizer, that's what it said on the tube. The package looks like Lip Balm, but its a mint flavored moisturizer for your mouth. It helped until I could get liquids this morning.

Yeah I didn't think it'd be possible for me to go home the next day. But my doctor told me this morning that she wanted to see how I did during Breakfast and Lunch and if all went well she'd let me go home around dinner time. Everyone at the hospital was so great, I would have been ok staying one more night but I'm glad to be home!
the good news is that since you will sleep most of today away, tomorrow will be here soon & you can drink then. I remember that feeling 2 weeks ago...it is unpleasant. Like everyone says, walk, walk...it really does help with the gas pain that you WILL get even if you are feeling good now. Speedy Recovery!
