use of tumeric as an alternative to NSAIDS

I am having a little issue between my cardiologist and bariatric surgeon.  I had three heart attacks quite a few years ago and went through the several years on Plavix and aspirin and I also take Imdur (nitroglycerine) daily.  Perhaps the turmeric might be what it is I am looking for.  I would rather take something natural as a blood thinner than have to go on another Rx.
