Spouses and Weight loss. What to do when you change and they don't?
What a beautiful story! Thank you so much for sharing.
Sadly, many don't want to work on their marriage and its hard on a marriage after wls--often ending in divorce. I smartened up before my wls and ditched a terrible man who was physically, verbally and emotionally abusive toward me. I fought like hell to save our marriage but it was a one-way fight. In the end, I am so very happy because now I share my life with a fantastic man and am learning what a healthy relationship/partnership looks like. I am working on me and the way I view things and letting go of past abuse, trauma, and learning how proper communication works between partners. Its tough work, but I intend to live the life everyone deserves---a happy one!
Congratulations!

Your story sounds like what I am fearing. My husband is a larger man that has many excuses for inactivity and procrastination. I hope my journey will inspire him to do something to aid in his weight loss effort. I also worry about our 12 year old son and his lack of activity. I pray my family will change with me. My surgery will be in March 2013.
So happy for you! Hope my situtation will work out, too,
that's wonderful. i hope i can tell a similar tale in the future. i'm still in the 'waiting for approval" stage but in a couple years my life may look quite different. my husband's bmi is well over 50. i hope that as i make changes, he might make changes with me but it will be a challenge. i love him enough to try my best to encourage him.
