I'm back... Kind of. LOL
Hello all!
I took a 9 month hiatus from this board while I focused my energy on growing a healthy baby instead of losing weight. For those of you not familiar with my story, I had RNY 10/18/2011 and was just 5.5 months post op when I found out I was pregnant at the end of March 2012.
My pregnancy went super smoothly. Absolutely zero complications other than my little booger being breech until sometime in the 38th week. We had gone so far as to schedule a c-section and everything. Found out the night before my pre-op appointment that baby flipped. But no gestational diabetes, no bp issues... a very healthy pregnancy. I even lost weight during the pregnancy, being 25 pounds lighter at delivery than I was pre pregnancy.
On 11/30/12, coincidentally the very day we were supposed to have our c-section, our son was born. He weighed 5lb15oz and was 18 3/4 inches long. Tiny, but healthy. We have named him Izaak James and he is so very loved. His big sister adores him and has since he was in the womb.
So I'm back. Well, kind of. As anxious as I am to flip around and get 100% back on track with all the WLS rules, I am breastfeeding and still need the extra carbs and calories. I'm anxious to get to ONEderland finally (Only 21-26 pounds to go depending on the day) and work on getting to goal, but I love breastfeeding too much to give it up just yet and it seems like I can't have it both ways.
Even at a stall, I have come a very long way from my high weight of 385 pounds to my current of 221-226 (again, depending on the day). From a size 32 to a size 16 jean. 26/28 tops to 14/16 tops. I'm happy with where I am for now. Not satisfied with this being my final result, but I have all the time in the world to lose weight and only a few months to a year of breast feeding.
I'll leave you with some pics of my baby boy and a current comparison shot of my progress. The progress shown in these pics doesn't show my entire journey as I had already lost 21 pounds in the "before" pic.

You have beautiful children!! Breastfeeding is a great bond and a way to give your baby a healthy start to life, enjoy it while it last. Your are right, there is no hurry. I breastfed both of my boys for 18+ months.

The little one is most important at this time. Your WLS will be the same after you give him a good start. Congratulations mom. That is the best profession in the world and you could not do better and looks like you have made great progress so far on losing the weight. ![]()
