First surgeon visit post-op

I had surgery 1/2/13 today was my first visit to the surgeon, he said I was like superman lol he expected me to be  in hospital a minimum of 5 days, i was out in 2. I am down 25 pounds since 11/28/12 that was good news for sure. I had my first experience with something that didn't agree with me, remind me not to have tuna fish anymore. Ready to get back to the daily grind at work on Monday.

Can I ask why he thought you would be in there 5 days?

Actually didn't ask him why but he said the same to my wife the day of my surgery that I should be there 5 days.

Good job!!! I had surgery on jan 2nd as well.. You can already eat tuna? I'd love to have some real food! I don't have a dr ATP till jan 25th so I was just going to wait to get some kind of approval lol

I had my surgery on 12/17/12 and I am on Puree/soft diet. Just had a little soft scrambled egg yesterday with no problem, YAY!

Haven't got to Tuna yet, but I would imagine that you would have to really ma**** down  and add a little low fat mayo to it to make it easier to eat.

I take things bit by bit-never know when pouchie will get grouchie!

Yes tuna fish blended for 30 seconds with low fat dressing but it didn't agree with me so i wont be having that for a while.

I had my RNY on 1/2/13 too. I was supposed to be in 2 days but had to stay 3. I haven't had pain meds except to sleep for 4 days. I am still on liquids. I went from clear broth to strained soups yesterday.  I see my Doctor tomorrow for my 1st post op visit.  Hope he lets me move up to pureed.  Congrats on your success.
