HUGE STALL???

I am four months post op and I have lost 75 lbs as of December 15.  I have not lost ANYTHING since December 15.  I only weigh myself every few days and I try really hard not to get discouraged....but I'm really worriedcool or maybe just more frustrated.

I am getting my protein and taking my supplements.  I even started working out about three weeks ago - I go to the gym and ride the bikes at least three times a week and that hasn't helped.

I still have over 100 lbs to lose.  What am I doing?  What am I not doing?  Is this yet another fail for me in my life-long quest to be healthier and thinner?  I am so discouraged and battling depression more every day.

Any input from anyone is greatly appreciated.

You've lost an incredible amount of weight in four months and stalls are normal.  In fact, many people don't even consider it a stall unless it lasts for at least four weeks.  If it discourages you, stay off the scale for a while.

You're doing fine.  You have to be, in order to have lost 75 pounds already.  So just keep doing what you're doing.

Kelly -

I really appreciate your words of encouragement.  I am really battling depression and discouragement these days.  I will be coming here more often for support.

You may be losing some weight, but offsetting that my gaining muscle mass.  Lengthy stalls are not uncommon, though, at any point in time.  I had a stall that was nine weeks long.  This does NOT mean that your surgery is a failure, and as long as you are following the rules, you are NOT a failure no matter how much you lose or don't lose.  You are only a failure if you give up.

Thank you for the inspiration.  You hit the nail on the head....I really want to give up.  I have always struggled with depression and giving up - now it is just more evident.  I don't have any support from my two teenage kids and it is discouraging.  I am going to try coming here more often for more encouragement and support.  I really appreciate that you took the time to offer some words of inspiration.  Thank you.

I am 4 months post op RNY and I am only down 48 lbs since surgery. Are you 75 down including pre-surgery weight loss? I am also at a stall right now. Since Dec 3rd. I get angry not depressed. I want to see weight loss and I think I am losing at a much slower rate. I know everyone losses weight differently and I do have other health issues going on and am not able to exercise like most of you out there. I do walk everyday but can't do strenuous workouts due to a heart problem.I'm also 60 yrs old. I'm just taking it a day at a time and I am happy with my loss so far even if it is slow. I've had two more shorter stalls and then the scale moved again. I do not lose weight every week but it is totaling to about 12 lbs a month. I am patient and follow my eating program and hopefully I will lose again soon.

I hit my first stall in December.  I just kept moving and it broke and now I'm down 3 pounds.  Just stick with the program.

Surgery weight:  232 lbs. / Goal: 145 lbs. Height:  5'5"     Fat? Ain't nobody got time for that.

I am 10 months post-op and have only lost four pounds in two months. It is a scary thing to see but I believe it is because I have added carb snacks ie. crackers :'( to my diet whi*****reases calories. I am thinking to myself, now I really have to start to do the hard work! I've lost 82 lbs and if i want to loose more I have to get back on the plan!!

Also wanted to say that after the first four weeks I did not lose for the next five weeks! And then it started again and didn't stop until now so don't give up!!
