Im 12 days post-op. I'm on pureed foods. Some of the selections include cottage cheese or scrambled egg. Cottage cheese goes down well and feels great too. I just can't even consider pureed chicken! Is 1/4 cup to much? I wanted more but didn't as im worried about eatr too much.

Do you have marching orders from your surgeon or nutritionist? I'd check that first, if you do.

I'm 1 month PO and I was eating about 1/4 - 1/2 C. of soft foods like cottage cheese, depending on how I felt at around 10 days PO. In fact, I'm still eating about 1/2 C. at a time.

I couldn't eat a 1/4 at 12 days out but doesn't mean it's wrong. Did your surgeon give you quantities to eat? If not give the office a call and ask.

It's difficult and a learning period early out for sure. I do think it was wise to stop at what you ate. You won't feel a full sensation right now because the nerves were cut and will take some time to get a full feeling back.

My surgeon told me 1/4 cup, but I couldn't finish that at 12 weeks. Is that what your surgeon recommends?

The diet recommended 2 T of pureed protein and 2T of a veggie. Instead I measured out 4T of cottage cheese and that was just about 1/4 c.

My plan was 1/4 c of pureed food. Some days I was able to eat that much other days I couldn't. I remember the first time I was able to eat pureed food, it was like heaven!!! Pureed chicken wasn't bad. Give it a try.

Pureed lean ham (moistened w/no sugar apple sauce or LF mayo) has settled well for me, but my surgeon is pretty open on the protein source, as long as it's lean. I've been buying the 97% fat free ham steaks and mincing them up in the food processor.

I've also done very well with tofu and fish, which I coo****il moist and flaky and then just mash a little with a fork and chew really well.

My surgeon says 1/4 cup cottage cheese and yogurt. 1/2 egg - scrambled. I just moved on to seafood (shrimp, tuna) and sometimes have to break up the 1/4 into 2 sessions.

on my one month chek up my nut cleared me for small amounts of foods. i asked about chicken he said yes, relish he said yes,and when i asked about mayO he frowned. so my solution was to mix 1/2 cp of cottaged cheese, can of chicken and relish. i split this into three portions, and it worked great!!!
