what the heck is happening? ???

So right now im in the ICU at the same hospital I had my surgery at 2 1/2 weeks ago. Tonight about 1 hour after my two med cups of cottage cheese I started projectile vomiting blood. Then started bleeding A LOT from the other end. I've never had a gi bleed in my life but I do now. I'm an RN so normally blood is not an issue but my own blood spewed all over the bathroom in large amounts kinda scared me. Has anyone ever had this happen? Didn't eat or drink anything off plan and all was well. Just a touch more tenderness than I've had. The bad thing is my 5 yr old granddaughter was there and she was terrified. All is well tbo, she's cal. And I'll find out what is going on tomorrow. Still.....kinda nervous.

So sorry you're in the icu with a nasty gi bleed.  I've heard that they are not uncommon,  not really sure why.  My guess would be incisional either your pouch, or remnant stomach, but only an egd will tell for sure.  Blood is pretty scary, and I hope she's ok too.  Take care, I hope all resolves well, and quickly too!

So sorry to hear this. Did you say you had two cups of cottage cheese?  I am unclear.
