GERD-does it get better after RNY? Conflicting advice from 2 doctors-so confused

Thank you all so much for your feedback and advice! It has been so helpful!  I met with my surgeon again yesterday and he said that he really prefers the RNY for me.  Just hearing it from him and reading all of your experiences has made me feel so much better!! AND--I just checked my email and my surgery has been APPROVED!  Woo-hooo!!! I am so excited to start this journey. I have been researching wls for over 2 years now!

My GERD has been cured by the RNY.  Sometimes I still have some acid, but it doesn't have a route to my esophogus, so it doesn't come up, I just have to take one med (before I took three and it still made me miserable every single day), and it controls the acid in my stomach.
