I am 2 yrs post op. Can we say constipation?

I've dealt with constipation for all of this two years. Colace and senna, or miralax by the gallon. I've had surgery for kidney stone, I have been on HUGE pain meds for kidney stone, then kidney spasms from the stent (which is now gone). I thought it was breaking last night, when I pooped some. Literally bunny terds (as my surgeon calls them). I'm at a loss what else to do. I've done exlax. Milk of mag, colace twice daily, miralax, gallons of water, senna, and some other over the counter stuff. I've even done an enema. My abdomen hurts like the dickens. I am passing gas, but seriously have never been this constipated EVER. So any ideas???? I'll try them. Other than those rabbit terds last night, nothing for 8 days. But I've been passing gas all of those 8 days.

Get the magnesium citrate liquid from a pharmacy and drink the whole thing. You will most likely be going all day so I wouldn't have anything planned.

have you tried dulcolax suppositories? I use them on my worst days. Otherwise the only thing that has worked is a dose of MoM every couple of hours til I go but then I have the opposite problem for a couple of days.

I'm at the point I'd take going for a couple days. Seriously I've even considered going to the ER I hurt so bad. They'll just give me more pain meds, and send me home. That wouldn't help at all.

Once my teenager is here to help with my other kids I'm trying another enema (last tried 2 days ago).

Have you tried drinking coffee? I know some people says that it keeps them regular. I have trouble with the constipation dept too. Its awful & taking more pain meds is just going to make it that much worse. Sometimes I think Dr's are just plain ole stupid or lack some common sense. I do hope you get some relief soon.

It might sound gross but get some gloves and ky jelly and manually dis impact yourself. Sometimes if your that constipated you have really hard stool blocking your rectum and the only way it comes out easily it to do it yourself. I'm a nurse and have to do this quite often with patients who get that clogged up. It's gross but you feel better afterward. Also if you do that use some preparation h afterwards cause it can cause some discomfort and swelling if you have hemmehoids.

I have also gotten impacted which is no fun.  Are there foods you are eating that are causing this, such as cheese or bananas?  Are you on any narcotics or meds where this is a side effect?  I have gotten to taking MoM every other day as I take a lot of pain meds which cause this.  Cheese and bananas are my worst enemies.  I have also found that putting my feet on a child's plastic step stool whilst trying to go seems to help me get at a better angle.

Are you still on pain meds?  Those really constipate me.  One thing that helped me was chia seeds.  They are spendy but they really did the job.  I used about a tablespoon or two, mixed with milk.  It wasn't bad tasting.  Let it sit and it gets kind of gooey and has an interesting texture.  Some people even use them to make pudding.  Try 2 tablespoons a night and see if that helps.
