Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Yes! I might shell out the big bucks for a human hair wig that I can have dyed with subtle purple strands...if purple can ever be subtle. The sexy ship has sailed, but I can look like a fun crazy old lady instead of an ordinary old lady in a bad wig.
please bare with me i am so sorry your hair is falling out ... i am waiting for approval for surgery but no one even Dr said anything about hair =falling out having rny means i am going to go bald enough to have to wear a wig?, i am not vain in any way rahter a plain jane , but but wondering how to explain to my hubby ? and does it ever grow back? thanks :)
I am not the OP, but I'll explain a bit about hair loss. After surgery, most of us lose some hair due to telogen effluvium in which our hair follicles go into a resting state and we experience shedding and thinning. I shed from about month three to month six, and my hair did thin some, but it has all come back. I have lots of springy new growth.
Most of us have our hair grow back to its presurgery thickness. I didn't feel it was enough for me to wear a wig, but that's me. Some folks take biotin hoping it will help with regrowth. It really didn't do anything for me.
And it's okay to ask about losing hair. That doesn't sound vain at all. It would be startling to hear about it when no one mentioned it before!
I fight badgers with spoons.

I think many or most people have some hair thinning post-op. Mine is an unusual case, so don't worry. You might want to keep a cute hat on hand, though.
That is weird your hair fell out after dying it and the colour is different. My guess is its a product issue. Did you leave it on too long? Was it burning your scalp? I've only ever heard of hair falling out / melting off due to over processing. I hope it comes back quickly. I'm so sorry you experienced this
I might have left it on three or four minutes too long, but shoot, I can't follow directions exactly. The bright red is a puzzlement. I think you are right about the product issue.
Lesson learned. If I get hair again, I'm never ever coloring it myself, if at all. It's better to be gray and hairy.
I agree there are some cute wigs out there. Find a color you like and play with it. A good quality wig can be cute and styled to your liking.
The good thing is hair grows back.
