How long did you need someone to help you at home post-surgery?

I just got a surgery date!!! It will be on Thursday, February 28th!! Woo-hoo!! I am so excited!

My doctor said I will probably just spend one night in the hospital. My question is-how long will I need my hubby to stay home with me to help me? If I have surgery on Thursday-do you think I would be fine (under normal cir****tances) to be on my own that following Monday?

I have surgery on a Monday, was home on Wednesday, my help left on Friday. I was fine, but I dont have to little kids to deal with. Some things I had my husband help with at night, but in general I was back to doing my normal house wife stuff after a few days.  it took me longer to do those things, with naps here and there.

I had my surgery on a Friday and hubby went back to work on Monday. I only was in the hospital for one night and have had no complications from surgery (other than constipation).

They say 2 weeks but after 4 days I was good up and doing everything goodluck :)

I really didn't need any help when I got home. My husband took care of the babies (2 & 4 years old). Other than that I was fine by myself. Congratulations on your date! This is an exciting time!

Congrats on your date.  I didn't need any help the next day.  Hubby helped me the first night home (which was the first day after surgery).

Hubby was with me at the hospital, which is out of town. Came home Saturday and he went back to work today. I am fine. We don't have children so no need for him to be home. I am mobile and up and about.

I had surgery on Tues, came home Wed, was alone all day Thursday with no problem.  So yeah, you should be fine.

Lol my husband is taking 2 weeks off, I'm such a wuss.

My kids will be in school the week after surgery but then the NEXT week will be spring break. I am thinking I will need hubby's help more that week since the kids will be home.  I will still be on liquids during spring break.
