Have any of you had problem with restarting a workout.  I did well prior to surgery and after surgery but then had to have my gallbladder removed and have since had trouble restarting my workout.  Not to mention in mid-December I had a severe sprain of my ankle, which meant no type of walking/running.  This is very frustrating for me because I know what I need to do but I have a hard time doing it.  These are the habits that got me where I was and have made me plateau for so long.  Just some encouraging words and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for all the encouragement you have all given me through this process.

It can be difficult if you lose your initial enthusiasm. I've had FOUR surgeries after my WLS on 11/29/11 - involving a hard-to-repair fistula. Unfortunately it's local is easily irritated by exercise (butt cheeks rub together, yo!), that I've had periods of weeks where it's just not possible to get much cardio or lower body activity in.

When starting back up, I've had to really push to make sure it's a part of my daily routine. I'm fortunate in that I work from home, so there's nothing stopping me from going downstairs to the treadmill on my lunch break or turning on the XBox Kinect for a Nike Fit or Zumba workout in the living room. Nobody but the cats care if I come back to my desk stinky.

Start back slow if you need to - in terms of the activity and/or the days a week, but work to increase both weekly until you're where you know you should be. We can hold you accountable too!

I feel ya!!  I knew the whole time that I needed to exercise but getting up and doing it was a completely different matter.  Finally, I said I'm going to take water aerobics because I love the water.  You just have to reach deep down and know you are doing it for you.

Good luck!!
