2 days post op

So I am now 2 days post op. Surgery went really well. Surgeon said my liver was nice and small, had no complications. Did really well in the hospital. Was up walking around that evening, and doing even better the next day. They said I looked good, and my numbers were so good they started me on my water and clear liquids that morning, and within 2 hours had brought my full liquid tray. Was able to take in a little, but not much. Did a lot of walking and they released me yesterday evening. It's been a little up and down since then. Now, I am getting the gas pains, and it settles up in the tops of my shoulders and that is what hurts so bad. Doing a little better with that part this morning. This morning had a lot of nauseous.  It seems to have slightly subsided now. Was able to get some tylenol down a little coffee and some water. Now sipping on some protein drink. Hoping the next few days get better.

Great first couple of days!  I thought the pain in the shoulder hurt so much too!  Moving around a bit every hour will help get that to stop.  Focus on protein shakes and vitamins and water at this time. Plus resting and napping to heal!

Good for you!! I had  a very painful post op, seems they had to really move things around in there to get my band off/port removed as well as the portion of the stomach it was attached too.

 I walked and walked until I couldn't physically do it anymore-then would go back to bed get a shot of dilauded and wait for a 1/2 hour and walk some more.

 I too had and still have some referred shoulder pain and it is just so intense the only thing that helps is walking, so I had my hubby put the treadmill upstairs in front of the television. I am trying to walk at least hourly for 5-10 min and this has taken care of my referred shoulder pain. So, just walk, walk, walk and it will get better :0)
