OT - PCP appt didn't go so well
I showed up and was informed that my PCP was not in today but that they were going to have me see another doctor instead, one I've never seen before. I said no thanks. I don't know if she was out sick or what, but I just made the appt yesterday and apparently she was expected to be in then. But there was no way I was seeing some doctor I don't even know. It was hard enough just to go and see her. So I left.
I would like to just go to bed and stay there until spring.

Sorry she wasn't there Kelly. Hope you rescheduled your appointment. Praying you feel better really soon.

I didn't reschedule. I don't know if I want to. It was hard even to schedule it once, and if I can't know if she'll be there or not, then there's no point because I can't see some doc I don't know at all.

Sorry Kelly. I'd call and reschedule but make it clear to them that you want to see YOUR doctor only and if they aren't there you will cancel and re-schedule. IMHO that was RUDE of them to not call you and inform you she wouldn't be in before you arrived. Good luck you will be in my prayers. I personally don't blame you....I don't like seeing a doctor I don't know either.

Kelly - I do hope you get to see your doctor. I always see the same one and have a wonderful relationship with his nurse so I can do so much over the phone regarding med changes and such. I can just ask her, she pulls my chart and gives it to him with my questions and he either writes a Rx or tells me that I need to make a different choice, Last year, my Part D plan decided not to cover Flexeril and he said there was no good substitute for me. Fortunately, it is cheap and I can just get it at WalMart, but it did not even require a trip to see him. I generally see him twice a year to go over all my meds.
I am sorry this had to be so stressful and unsuccessful for you.

This sort of situation just isn't right! It has happened to be over the years to me and my kids. I think that you (anyone) deserves a phone call from the office as soon as they know that something has changed and the appointment that you made had to change. I get really angry when they just think that anyone will due.....not so, for SO many different reasons. It shouldn't be thrown at anyone when they show up for a scheduled appointment.
