Today I am 8 days post op and Ever since Sunday I have been feeling pretty good. *knock on wood* hoping to stay that way! Today I moved up to Smooth Consistency plan and first grain introduced was crackers. It feels so nice to be off liquids and able to eat something kind of normal! I had baby bell cheese for breakfast and peanut butter crackers for lunch! So yummy. Did well with those. Tonight is over baked yellow squash! I can drink pretty easily, and get the hiccups sometimes but its all good! Fingers crossed it keeps going as well as it has been. I start work back Monday, and my job is labor intensive. So hoping that goes well. Can get around really well. I do see after about an hour I'm a little drained but a quick rest solves that. Trying not to over do anything.

What kinds of crackers are you allowed to eat?  I've been on proteins the last month and can now start introducing some new foods.  I am craving Chinese, but some crackers would help, too.

My surgeons plan didn't specify what kind of crackers, I just did saltines. 5 crackers only has 1.5g of fat and 1 protein and no sugar. I tolerated it very well. I was suprised at how quickly my plan moves, compared with most everyone else's. 1st week was full liquids and today started 2nd week and its smooth consistency, the next Tuesday week 3 is the last stage and that is soft diet slowly introducing regular food slowly. I've done well so far with everything I've eaten. Fingers crossed it continues to go well. Try some crackers, that might help. I would just check the label, as far as other crackers go.
