Anyone who's had an ulcer after gastric bypass:

when did you first notice the symptoms?

what were the symptoms?

what did your doc do to treat?

how did it effect your ability to intake liquids/food/nutrients?

In my ongoing vomit saga (sorry if TMI), last couple of times, there were brown flakes in it.  I haven't ingested anything brown for over 8 hours (and that was maybe an ounce of a protein shake).  Dr. suggested it's possible there could be a bleed somewhere in the GI tract, possibly ulcer, so i'll be going in as soon as the incompetants in the office schedule the appt.  (side track rant there...)

I had same issue I kept vomiting and couldnt keep anything down then one morning I got up and vomited a bunch of brown flakes. I called my surgeons office immediately and they told me to go into the ER where my surgeon was. I was super dehydrated and felt way better after I got some fluids in. My surgeon did an endoscopy and sure enough I had an ulcer I had to stay in the hosptial for about a week and they gave me protonics for the acid and carafate to coat my stomach. I was sent home with 4 refils of the big bottle of carafate and take nexium daily. I have an appointment beggining of march for another endoscopy for him to check out my ulcer and dialate me a bit because Im narrow. Please call your surgeon ASAP an ulcer is no joke and can be very very dangerouse
