Stomach bug two weeks before surgery!!!

Dear Friends,

I was scheduled to do all my pre-op stuff yesterday (ekg, chest x-ray, gallbladder sonogram, etc.) and I had to cancel because I have a stomach bug. Ugh! I hope this doesn't change my surgery date.  The office never called me back to reschedule it. :(  

I am hoping and praying that this doesn't last long.  I feel much better today than I did yesterday but am still pretty weak.

Did anyone else get sick close to surgery? Did you have to change your surgery date?

I was relieved that my flu test was negative, since that usually has me down for several days.

I hope you feel better soon, I have not heard of a stomach bug holding up surgery but my surgeon told me he had a lot of cancels due to the flu.  You do not want to mess with your stomach not being in the best condition it can be, you want to heal as well as possible and if that means pushing your surgery back although I know you do not want but if your surgeon recommends it then he/she knows best.  I will pray everything works out for the best :)

We had something going around our house that came in, kicked your butt for 24 hours or so and then was done. It hit me hard and fast on Tuesday morning and by Wednesday I felt much better. Best wishes!
