going to the movies

I'm going to see a movie later today.  I very seldom go to the movies so when I do, I usually get popcorn.  Movie popcorn is the best, isn't it?  But today I'm thinking of making roasted chickpeas and taking them in my purse, so I can avoid the popcorn.  I love the popcorn, but it usually causes my blood sugar to crash later on.  The chickpeas would be better for me.

I am getting a diet Coke, though!

Let us know what you think of it.  My husband and I were were discussing seeing it the other day.  We figure it will either be really good or really cheesy.

I agree about the movie popcorn. It is delicious and wonderful, but I get a blood sugar crash from popcorn too. Roasted chickpeas sound pretty good, and Hansel and Gretel looks like a lot of fun. Enjoy!

I adore popcorn and have it almost every night for a snack.

Movie theater popcorn always caused my blood sugar to plummet too when I had diabetes (pre-surgery). But I do indulge when I go to the theater, and sometimes a few chocolate treats with it, and always diet soda, even though I can't drink it and eat the popcorn at the same time.

Enjoy the time out and the movie!

I went to the movies with my daughter the other day (we saw Escape from Earth - it was fun!) and had 1/2 of a hot dog (no bun), and about 5-6 pieces of my daughter's popcorn.  It was yummy, and about all I could handle - I was stuffed.  But, I didn't feel deprived!

Popcorn does the same to me if I eat too much, which of course, with movie popcorn, it's easy to do. I usually eat a small personal bag and do okay with it, so thats what I take with me to the movies. But the chikpeas sound really good!

I have heard of the roasted chickpeas on this forum but have no idea were I could get them.  If someone would let me know I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

Val
