I am hungry and eating...
I am dissapointed that I have an appetite again. Today I had 1800 calories in. I felt like my "hungry button" got turned on !! I am just 10 months out, and had hoped I would never have to fight food again..Espescially not this soon. My weight loss has been good so far, and I am terrified that the weight will come back on. Is it normal that I am having to go back to calorie counting in order to keep losing? I have to make a concious effort to restrict and make good food choices to keep my calories at 1200. I do get my protien in every day. Looking for sound advice.
Have you tried more fluids? Sometimes that hungry feeling is your body needing more water, G2, etc. That helps me. Also eat dense protein. It sticks with you and you'll stay fuller for a longer period of time. I also started snacking on fat free Greek yogurt instead of crackers, etc. Protein and fluids are key. You got this.
Next week will be 3mo for me. My hungry button got pushed several weeks ago. I upped my fluid and try to focus on "non-slider" protein rich foods. It really helps!
The past two days, at work, I packed 2 greek yogurts, chicken salad, string cheese, and sf pudding...guess what??? I was STARVING by the end of the day!!! Today, I will get some fresh veggies thrown in there and "real" chicken.

You and I had our surgeries around the same time. I track everything on MFP and I eat/drink between 1000 and 1200 calories a day. I don't necessarily count the calories, though. That's just how it ends up, although I do try to remain conscious of them. I'm more concerned about getting my protein in, and I usually end up with about 100 g of protein each day.
I will tell you what I do -- not saying this is the only way to do it or anything like that -- but this is what works for me. It's a pretty rigid schedule, by my choice. I eat my meals every six hours and I have my "snack" between those meals... about 3-4 hours after breakfast and 3 hours after lunch.
Breakfast is almost always 3/4 cup of Kashi Go Lean high protein high fiber cereal with 1/2 cup of low fat soy milk and two prunes. Sometimes I will have a container of Greek yogurt instead of the soy milk, but then I reduce the cereal to 1/2 cup.
I have two "snacks" a day, but these are always protein drinks or protein bars. (Almost always protein drinks; I usually only eat the protein bars when I'm traveling.) The protein drinks really curb my appetite between meals, and they are 25-30 grams of protein each.
Lunch is usually a protein (I don't eat meat much, so usually some kind of beans, RF cheese, or veggie chili) and a salad or fruit. Otherwise it is Greek yogurt and a fruit, maybe with a little Ka****hrown in for bulk. Sometimes I will add some complex carbs if I think I'm going to have a hungry day (usually some RF Wheat Thins or some Beanitos).
Dinner is usually protein or two and a salad. Almost always. If I haven't had a complex carb for lunch, I may add it during dinner, or I may not.
I've really limited my food choices, but I've found that this is what works for me and I'm happy with it. I have about 20 foods or so that I eat on a regular basis. And, I really enjoy what I eat! I don't really miss the other stuff so much. When it's time to eat, I'm definitely hungry and ready, but I generally don't feel hungry between meals because I've got the protein shakes keeping me satisfied. If I'm not able to stay on my rigid schedule, I improvise the timing, but the types of food pretty much stays the same.
Not to say I'm the patron saint of sticking to all good stuff all the time. I do sometimes sneak some other foods in once in a while just to keep life interesting and because they look so good! Hubby and I went to Texas Road House last night for dinner. I had a cup of chili and a salad with low fat Ranch dressing, but I did also have a big bite of their delectable, warm roll with the sweetened butter! One bite was all it took. I gave my man the rest and I was happy with my "treat." Now I'll be set in my ways for another couple of weeks until I see something else I really want a bite/taste of!
I have been starving since day 1. You have to figure out how to deal with it if you want to be successful for the long haul. One thing that helps me if I feel famished is NOT drinking within an hour or so before eating (my surgeon's guidelines say 15 minutes and I know many people drink right up until eating). I feel like I get more restriction that way (and eat way less to feel full).

I can only eat 1 meal a day. Since day 1 I have felt full and rarely feel hungry. At times I smell things cooking and my head tells me I am hungry but there are no hunger pangs ever. I am supposed to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks like everyone else but the 1 meal makes me feel full all day. I do drink fluids and take my vitamins and calcium but I have to space them out. All I can figure is that I have excellent restriction and I really hope it last so I am not tempted to eat the way I did. We all believe in you and we know you can tame the hunger beast. Hang in there.
For me there is about a week a month where I can eat everything in sight and do. The rest of the month I reign it back in and take off the little I put on.... I have been around the same weight give or take 5 lbs. It's still a struggle, but I am not as good about making smart choices now like I was in the beginning. But, I know I am going to want to be "bad" sometimes so exercise is a must.
