Question...

It's been awhile since I've been on OH, so hello to all and I hope all are doing well.  I went for my 9 month check up about a month ago and I've lost a total of 116 lbs.  I'm not complaining but my surgeon stated that I may lose a little more, but really not to expect to lose much more.  I'm at a 60% loss according to him and am on target.  Now it's more maintenance?

Is this correct?  I started at 315 lbs and are at 196 currently (onderland--horray!)  I left somewhat disappointed.  Understand that I'm not complaining about what I've done so far, just confused that it's over...per say?

Thanks!

~Marie

It's not who you are that holds you back...
It's who you THINK your NOT!

highest weight = 315     pre-op weight = 290     current weight = 145

60% loss is pretty normal at nine months out, yeah.  But it's only maintenance now if you are trying to maintain your current weight, not lose anymore.  Since most people lose for at least a year and many keep losing for 18 months or more, I personally would not stop trying to lose if I'd only lost a little over half of my excess weight.  But it's up to you.  Do you want to keep losing?

Hi Kelly!

Yes I definitely want to continue losing.  I don't feel as though I'm near what I would like to be.  It's slowed down considerably, but that I expect.  I've slacked off of exercising and know that it'll or I'll improve once I get back on it.  Winter blahs so I have to kick myself in gear.  Thanks for answering it's appreciated!
