I have discovered that Premier Protein is AWFUL!
OMG! I bought some of the chocolate shakes for my pre op diet because of all the great reviews and I have to say that it is AWFUL! Taste like metallic chalk and toooooo sweet. I'm just going to finish the box and then buy some new ones. I heard that the Special K ones are pretty good but not as much protein. Anyone have any other recommendations? I am trying to keep it as cheap as possible but still taste decent. Good news is that I lost 11 pounds the first two days! WOW!!! Getting rid of some water weight! :)
Besides the walgreens one, Muscle Milk Light isn't too bad and it is a powder or premade. I've never been a fan of any premade ones, but it was tolerable.

Yea everyone is sooo different. I LOVE the premier protein chocolate premade shakes, easy and taste good to me. I have one every morning on the way to work. Get 30g of protein in before 7am!

Your tastes will change SO MUCH after your surgery. My suggestion is to go to Vitalady's website and order protein samples for after surgery. Some nutrition stores carry samples too. I bought $100.00 worth of protein powders that I loved pre-op ...and HATED post-op. Everything tastes different for several months after surgery. I think some of that change is from the anesthesia. I loved coffee pre-op...after surgery...coffee tasted like ashes in my mouth. It took 4 months before I liked the taste of coffee again. Everything tasted too sweet after surgery. I found that an unflavored protein powder (I used Unjury) was what I used the most. I mixed it with Crystal Light or diet hot cocoa.
That's why some of us always warn people to try samples first. Just because 20 other people raves out it doesn't mean you will even be able to gag it down! MANY people here LOVE Click, but I have ever been able to drink more than about 3 swallows of it. It is VILE.
Get sample packets from Unjury, Chike, Syntrax, etc.. Vitalady's website offers sample of lots of different brands and you can choose exactly which flavors you want to try. Syntrax makes some standard "milkshake" types of powders (I personally love the Vanilla Bean Torte) and also has some fruit flavored powders hat make a king of thick Kool Aid type of drink in both some sweet (e.g. Strawberry Kiwi) flavors and some sour flavors (I like the Twisted Cherry, and the Roadside Lemonade isn't too bad (although I usually would mix it with Crystal Light lemonade powder). BJs Bariatrics web site now lets you choose which of the Syntrax flavor samples you want to try.
Unfortunately, it really is just a matter of trial and error to find what you like.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Congratulations on 11lbs gone!!!
