Wow thank you everyone for the wonderful feedback.  Just seeing these helps so  much, it is amazing.  The comparison to childbirth is really good because I remember when I had my first baby I thought I would never be able to read the paper again or watch the news because he took every minute of the day but that's how it felt even though obviously that wasn't the reality!!!  Monday will be 3 weeks since surgery.  I just have to get through 9 days more of pureed food and then I can start eating real protein!!!
