I am sorry you are in so much pain. The fact of not having a BM is miserable. Call the doctor and insist that you get help whether it ****** visit or more meds. I pray you get better and get some relief quickly. Walk as much as possible even with a pillow on your incision. YOU CAN DO THIS!

Thank you all for your suggestions! After taking Milk of Mag for two days, i just decided to go ahead and take 2 of the GasX strips. Miracles happened! I also have a call in to surgeon about the pain, because I am also worried that it can be more than gas pain. I am going to see how everything feels after my "bathroom break" and go from there! Thank you all, I don't know what I would do without this forum!!!!!!

I agree about asking for a different pain med. Also i try to only watch tv when i have dvr'ed it. That way i can fast forward through the food commercials. I also go in our bedroom when my hubby and the kids eat. That has helped a lot. If u suspect a peak-ask for an upper gi so that they can check u out. Who is ur dr? I live in the dfw area too. So sorry u r having a hard time! Hugs, Pam

I had horrible pain there as well doc sluffed me off as well and he was right. It was nothing. I finally got him to tell me to go to the ER and I had a scan and nothing was wrong. The next day (day 6) I sat up and felt a "pop" in the belly and the pain was dang near gone. I had a build up of fluid once it released itself I felt so much better. Doc said perfectly normal but I too was freaked out. While the lortab helped other pains it didn't touch that one. Give it some time and keep trying to walk and drink your fluids.

BTW, the cravings will get better too!  My first week I fantasized about pizza and cheeseburgers, but eventually that went away.

Well with increasing pain that was not resolved once I finally had a bowel movement (actually 3) I decided to head to the ER. Good thing because tests showed significant edema in my abdomen along with my lungs being slightly collapsed. Having gone ignored, both would have been quite serious in a day or 2. I have been admitted and waiting for my surgeon to come see me shortly.
