Hello-

Has anyone been experiencing night sweats post surgery??? I have! Like, change your clothes in the middle of the night sweating, its terrible. I've never had this problem before!! I had no comorbidities, and I'm almost 7 months out of surgery. I have recently upped my food intake slightly to accommodate my increased working out. Also, I have been eating before bed because I'm actually hungry before bed. Could this have something to do with it? Anyone know how to solve this?? Or know what it could mean? Should I call my doctor? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I want this to stop because its gross, and it wakes me up in the night :(

Edit: I'm only in my 20s- so hopefully this isn't a menopause related thing! ahh

Yes I have been experiencing this...a lot, big time!  And I am long past menopause.  Annoying?  YES

I hope mine has nothing to do with menopause- as I'm in my 20s!! (probably should have mentioned that)

Low blood sugar during the night may cause this.  Try eating something with protein right before bed.  Don't eat anything high in carbs right before bed, although some complex carbs along with protein should be ok, like a few whole grain crackers with cheese.

It doesn't happen to me every night but it does on occasion.  It is gross.  I wake up very early in the morning and my dog needs to go out and I have to change clothes first because I am soaking wet and I can't go outside when it's below freezing in soaking wet clothes.

It may be RH - reactive hypoglycemia - if your BS is dropping during your sleep - sweating is one of the symptoms of low BS. I fyou are eating carbs before bed - that may be causing that.

This is a blood sugar thing, don't eat carbs before bed unless it is mixed with something that has a sufficient amount of protein to balance it out.  Your blood sugar is crashing in your sleep.  Been there, done that, have the t-shirt.

Thanks for the information.  I am so used to high BS that it didn't dawn on me to consider a bedtime snack would trigger it.
