Food and stuff is crazy..need advice pls!

Ok so I'm almost 11 weeks out and finally doing well. But there is so much information and truthfully food makes me nuts! I'm able to get 60 grams of protein in now without difficulty. I drnk 1-2 protein drinks daily and I can tolerate 2 oz of chicken or fish. I don't want to count calories ever again but I did for a few days just to get an idea. I take in around 600 a day. I read on here if you eat too much yoh can slow your weight loss and if you eat to little you can do the same. In all honesty I did want to lose some weight when I got this surgery! I'm dropping sizes but try to avoid the scale as that makes me kind of nuts too! Am I eating enough? Too little? What's a newbie post surgery girl to do? I am following the dr's food plan except im dfinki g protein shake or two instead of eating meat. Am I doing okay? My dr appointment isn't until April 15th and I'm feeling a little neurotic!

You are doing just fine. I was eating between 600-800 calories at 11 weeks out. I was making sure I was getting enough protein. At my 6 month app't my doctor told me I shouldn't be counting calories yet... But I do!!!! Can't help it. The weight will come off. Some weeks you won't lose, other weeks you will. Just be patient.

I think you're doing great! I struggle to get more than 400 calories a day - I aim for at least 500. The scale just doesn't move if I don't get at least that. As for protein, I tried to do it without the shakes/drinks and bars, but most meats and eggs just don't so well with me yet.

I am about 2 weeks before you and still get most of my protein in via my shake.  I can still only tolerate soft fish, cheese and eggs.  No meat except very lean like in a chili.  Still doing lots of beans, veggie burgers, yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta cheese.  But my Nut said that was ok, that it takes some people up to a year or more to get your protein from meals and not shakes.  I am losing and losing inches so I figure my body is just taking its own sweet time to heal and tolerate.  Then again, I may never be able to tolerate some of that stuff but I am learning how to get the protein in other ways.  I am loathe to ever count a calorie again as I get obsessive about it and that's not good.  I find it interesting that so many are counting carbs.  I just read the labels and make sure my fat is below 10g and my sugar is below 8 g.  Hmm, I think that is right, LOL.
