Chickfila
It wasn't my purpose to argue - it was my purpose to right the misinformation that the boycott is just about marriage! The groups Cathy spends Chik-Fil-A money on are waaaay more out there than anti-gay marriage!!!!!
Neither you nor I will change our minds at this stage of our lives but I don't like to see people posting incorrect facts - incorrect views are the stuff of arguments and I don't think this board is the place so I'll leave it there!
Proud Feminist, Atheist, LGBT friend, and Democratic Socialist
I also will not support Chick-fil-A because of the fact that is clearly documented that Chick-fil-A profits fund documented hate groups that aggressively work against LGBT people, advocating for their criminalization, psychological abuse, or death. I'm a law professor. Marriage is a "Civil Contract" between the government and the two people who love each other to get married. Perhaps the people who are bible thumping on here are unaware of the First Amendment's separation of church and state. Additionally, we do not need prayer in schools because who is going to decide who we pray to? Not everyone in this country is a Christian and I'm sure as hell not taking direction from an outdated book written by men that tells you how to treat your slaves, that it is permissible for a man to have 300 concubines, and that if a woman isn't a virgin when she get's married then she should be stoned to death.
On top of all that, Chick-fil-A is bad for you!!
I of course feel very strongly about it and do not buy food there ever. To fund hate groups is awful. However, I don't let anyone tell me what I can and cannot do. I still married my wife and I call her my wife regardless of if its legal here in Ohio. Not trying to start anything just wanted to throw in my two cents. :)
I guess I think I have as much right to define marriage as you do.
