You ever feel like a pill popper?

I swear I do. I know that the majority of what I take everyday is vitamins. I keep all my vitamin bottles in a luggage bag. That's a lot of pills, but I would much rather take all those vitamins than to be deficient & sick.

I do, too. What all do you take?

The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.

Prozac

Wellbutrin

Protonix

Multi vitamin

Calcium

B12

Biotin

Fiber

Magnesium

Papaya Enzyme (if I'm eating dense protein)

Iron

Stool Softners

D3

& 1 or twice a week I will use a laxative if I feel I need to, but since I've added the fiber pills

I haven't really needed them.

I will take sleep aid at night because I haven't slept a full night since my surgery over a year ago.

Once the Dr figures out what anti depressant & anxiety medications work best for me we will work on

the sleep issues.

Funny but I think not being is a pill popper is one of the reasons why my DH and I had 10 kids in our 18 year marriage.

I have always hated taking medicine and especially being a slave to a regular regime of any medicines.

But now I am and more than I ever expected in life.  I try to simplify as much as possible but some you just can't.

My daily dassle consists of

double multivitamins

double calcium

iron supplements

CLA

Vitamin D3 softgels

Biotin

Probiotics

stool softeners when needed

Magnesium supplements

bi-monthly b-12 injection by PCP

and about 10 different prescriptions for pain, anxiety, insomnia

I was told I would only need a multi vitamin and b12. Are they telling the truth? I could never take that many pills

Multivitamin
Calcium Citrate
B12
D3
Iron
Colace
Fiber supplement (powdered added to liquids)
This is what I use.
B12, D3,and Iron are adjusted based on labs.
You van always check out the ASMBS guidelines, but you will definitely need more than a multi and B12!

Thank you both for the info. Okay so I take my regular chewable 2 times a day even tho it says once right? And I got b complex drops that go under your tongue. and in addition to that I need to buy the other things as well calcium and vitamin d. I just want to make sure I am well stocked before surgery. I am sorry but I think that some of these over priced "bariatric" vitamens are gimics. They know we want to do our very best to stay healthy so they take advantage of it. I didnt buy bariatric vits I bought a chewable for adults. Thanks again your info is so much appreciated

No, you need 2 multis a day, B-12 sublingual if taken orally, a min of 500 mg Calcium citrate (not carbonate) 3 times a day to equil 1500 mg a day, iron if you are pre-menopusal. Most North Americans are low on D, so you'll likely need dry D3. If your labs show you need anything else, you'll need to add them too.
