Eggs

I'm 2 months out after rny and I can't eat eggs anymore, has anyone experienced this also and if so what do you have for breakfast as protein aside of protein shakes, since shakes are not my friend.

Been there, I couldn't eat eggs for a LONG time.  Some people do have trouble with eggs especially early out.  Have you tried egg salad, that may be easier?

I can now do a boiled egg but scrambled sometimes still hurts to eat.  I do make a crustless quiche that works....I add cheese, veggies and bacon or ham usually and put a dollop of Greek Yogurt and Salsa to make it easier to get in.

Do you like cottage cheese or yogurt?  Maybe some oatmeal with vanilla protein powder (carbs so not something that works for all).  Ham and cheese rollups are also good for breakfast....hot or cold.  And who says breakfast has to be traditional I've been known to eat a small hamburger patty or baked chicken in the morning.

Never had cottage cheese and it may sound silly but I don't know what a egg salad looks likes, I can't have yogurt and I have tried eggs every way possible and it doesn't sit well in my tummy... Thanks for the response and hopefully in the future ill be able to tolerate it..

Boil an egg and chop it up.  You then add light mayo (or regular if you want and prefer, be careful you may react to the fat), salt, pepper and pickle relish if you like.  Google egg salad recipes, you may find you like something different.  You could also just make chicken or tuna salad with chopped boiled egg in it too to add additional protein.

I cannot do eggs anymore.  I tried one last week over easy and I am done.  They are a great source of protein, but they are evil little creatures that lurk in my fridge, praying my husband will eat them so they don't have to endure the evil eye from me.  I love yogurt, I don't do protein shakes and haven't since I was about 5 or 6 months out, but I have been able to get all my protein in food wise. Cajungirl posted here to eat ham and cheese roll ups, a pattie, piece of chicken (once you are allowed.)  I have had to get real creative because I am not a chicken lover or burger lover at all.  Sigh......alot of things do change and it is a small sacrifice even though frustrating at itmes.  Many foods I thought I would die without, well guess what?  I don't and eventually you can incorporate many of them back in, but now it's learning how to use the pouch as the tool in was intended for.  Utilize it now.  There isn't a whole lot I don't get to enjoy now at 11 months. I do not advocate stopping protein shakes at all, because it is a wonderful source of protein but unfortunatetly it seems like everything we start first putting in our pouch are  things we cannot tolerate now, some things for good.  Good luck, and try every which way you can to eat an egg because as the commercial once said, "It's the perfect food".

Have you tried a turkey burger? The shape is pretty much all it has in common with burgers, and it's not chicken.

I couldn't eat eggs either for awhile and hard boiled eggs still are tough for me at almost 9 mths out. I can eat eggs now and love them but early out I ate as much meat, ground beef as possible, yogurt, cottage cheese, cheeses, chicken thighs, broths and lunchmeats. I had to think outside the box for breakfast foods, no ordinary stuff like cereals, pancakes, french toast etc.

You know, I used to love eggs.  Eggs with veggies, smothered in Tabasco or salsa.  Now I can't eat them.  What really kills me is the smell.  I have no idea why.  I cannot inhale anywhere near an egg or something bad happens.  It sucks.  I really like chicken and the same thing happens.  My nose is whacky since surgery!  But...a veggie omelette...while still sounds good to my head is an evil thing to my nose and my pouch.  Bummer.....

I have not had any problem with eggs, so far.  In fact, this morning I made a scramble with scrambled eggs, lean crumbled sausage and low fat cheese.  It was delicious and the dog was happy I could not eat it all.
