Kinda OT-When to wear white??

My mother always said that white is only acceptable between Memorial Day and Labor Day and wouldn't have it any other way. I love to wear white pants, jeans and capris, even if they don't stay white for too many years! I've been looking around at TJ Maxx and Marshalls the last few days and that "When to wear white" question has been going through my mind.....so here it is. Your thoughts??

I might get lost in a snowstorm!! My winter coat is white......do you think I like white??

I don't have an answer except to say where white when you feel like it. But thank you for posting what your mother always said. I have always heard, "Don't wear white after Labour Day." and that's all fine and good, but without that bit about Memorial Day, *every* day is technically after (or before) Labour Day. (Maybe it's because I'm Canadian??)

 

I forget that Canadian holidays are different than the States. I like the 80 and above thing that Heidi said. That might not be much time at all for you gals up north though.....

When it gets hot outside, if it is 80 in March wear white if you want too.  I go by the temperature not the calendar.

Well THAT makes it easy, it might be my new plan.....

When there are no children, dogs or cats around

When you don't intend eating spaghetti bolognaise

When it's not snowing (you may get scooped up by a snow plough)

Honestly, I think there are times when white jeans and capris look a little silly, but white pants or anything winter white is ok to wear anytime I think.   

I am always around dogs, cats and horses. That must be the reason my whites only last a season or two. I love my white jeans, but pack them away for the winter and unpack them when the weather warms up (along with the sandals). My mom, with the white pants rule, wore sandals until the snow was getting on her feet, haha!

For me... Never! I have dogs, I work with kids, and I have the worlds messy-est husband!
Seriously though, some people look fabulous in white. They wear it well.

Me... It's always got some stain on it, so I rarely wear white.
