My daughter 7 years out can eat about 1/2 c. of course she is keeping her weight off and it is not a trigger for her.

You could always buy an ice cream maker and make high protein type frozen desert .

I am a year out and have not tried it, it is not my thing, there are plenty of "diet" popsicles , even greek yogurt ones at 100 cals

NOTHING is never ever !!!!

i want to try the frozen banana ice cream. just cut up a banana, freeze it, then blend till it is the consistency of soft serve. i heard it was quite good. i have had a bit of  the real stuff but found i did not enjoy it as much as i used to.

Pre WLS, ice cream was a huge issue  for me.  Post op, at nearly 5 yrs out, I can take it or leave it-- a carton of ice cream will sit in the freezer so long it will form ice crystals and need to be thrown out!  I find I can enjoy a small amount (like 1/4 c) without causing dumping, etc.

When I go to DQ or frozen yogurt places, I get the 'kiddie' cone, and still end up tossing some of it.

Kudos to you Larry. My trigger foods are potatoes and pasta, they are no more for me. I traded them for my weight loss. Pretty good trade!!!!!
